The successful candidate will procure CAPEX materials, equipment and services, site development requirements for D&L Group of Companies at the specified quantity, quality, delivery schedule and the best price both local and imported.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
He/she will take charge of buying all maintenance, repairs, operating supplies requirements for the group of companies which includes but are not limited to packaging equipment, process equipment, site infrastructure equipment, pumps, motor and power transmissions, electrical, building maintenance and repair services, technical engineering services.
The role will conduct bidding, analyze bids and negotiates for CAPEX and MRO project engineering works at the best prices and under the most favorable terms for the company;
He/she will negotiate and buy all plant machineries & equipment including spare parts, engineering materials and services required by the company and ensure delivery based on the quantity, price, quality and time specified.
The incumbent will provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge.
He/she will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
He/she will also develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
He/she will manage problems and schedule changes and ensure changes are reflected within the ERP systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree, Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Material Science) or equivalent.
Proven purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Contract management and supplier experience
Project management experience
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management
